Mixed Media

As an avid and experienced recycler, I have long collected detritus from everyday happenings in my life and repurposed it in my artworks.

Finding Mylar Balloons on the shoreline of Fire Island each year and accumulating dry cleaning hangers from working with corporate clients who have collected them for their pieces, have created a mainstay in the depository of weft materials. The warp materials used in the Mixed Media pieces are from the Tick Studio archives, from years of developing fibers for the commercial architecture and design community.

For commissions, I often work with clients to help them identify materials they no longer need or use and intend to discard, which can instead be included in the creative process and transformed in the finished artwork.
