Mylar Balloons
Over the past five years, I’ve collected over 1,000 mylar balloons roaming the beach of Fire Island. All family milestones, unknown celebrations, birthdays, graduations, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day. All became the medium of transformation for the past five years.
Process: Color grade the balloons. Cut the balloons as if coring an apple all in one strand. For heavier texture, I cut these strips in half-inch strands. For tighter structures, I cut in ¼-inch strands.
